Georges "Rush" St-Pierre Groin Injury Will Not Require Surgery

During Georges St-Pierres’ UFC 100 battle with Thiago Alves, St-Pierre suffered a painful groin injury during the forth round. Like the true champion he is, St-Pierre completed the fight  and won a unanimous decision victory over the tough as nails Thiago Alves.

St-Pierre spoke about how painful his injury was and how he gutted through it in some behind the scenes footage of UFC 100.

Although the injury was painful it seems that St-Pierre will recover a lot quicker than he originally thought.  An MRI has revealed that the injury will not require surgery.

The UFC Welterweight champion, who deservedly beat Alves via unanimous decision, is expected to return to training in the next few weeks.

St-Pierre is scheduled to next face either Martin Kampmann or Mike Swick, who will meet at UFC 103 in September to determine who is the number one contender.
