Following Fighters on Twitter

Many fighters have joined Twitter and are posting updates. Fighters are using Twitter not only to share information on training and their random thoughts, but also to talk trash and announce fights. WEC rivals Donald Cerrone and Jamie Varner have used it to throw barbs at each other, and Rich Franklin used it to announce that he will be fighting Dan Henderson at UFC 103.
Rich Franklin – “Ace” is new to Twitter, but he’s already fun to follow.
Tom Lawlor – Not shockingly from the guy who entered UFC 100 to “Who Let the Dogs Out,” with his cornerman Seth Petruzelli on a leash, Lawlor’s Tweets are hilarious. His last Tweet indicated that he’s getting fat and loving it.
Joe Stevenson – Joe “Daddy” shares not only updates on training, but random notes about his family and friends.
Donald Cerrone – “Cowboy” doesn’t Twitter often, but when he does, it’s good stuff, calling out his opponents, making fun of his Greg Jackson teammates, etc.
Jamie Varner – Who has Cowboy been calling out? Jamie Varner of course. Varner is not afraid to respond via Twitter.
Josh Barnett – He is getting ready for an August 1 fight with Fedor Emelianenko, and his Twitter is full of updates on training as well as quotes and songs that would motivate anyone for a bout.
Nate Quarry – In his last update, he challenged a toddler to a strongman competition. Why wouldn’t you want to follow him?
Quinton “Rampage” Jackson – Sample Tweet: “I just got cussed out by Super Dave Osbourne!” The picture at right is from his Twitter, as well.
Reed Harris – The general manager of WEC is known to give away free stuff via Twitter.
