Nick Diaz vs Carlos Condit Rematch, already a done deal.

Rumors and news of an immediate Nick Diaz, Carlos Condit rematch started to break late last night with some buzz on twitter. Today it’s really getting some momentum and the deal seems to be done.

TODAY - Dana White - The rumor is true. Carlos did accept the fight today and Carlos is coming on Friday.

12:20 AM EST - ”Well, the powers to be just called. @CarlosCondit and myself will be in vegas and hope to have an announcement on fri… ”

10:30 AM EST – I don’t get it. First you guys want the rematch, we make it happen, now I’m getting the “wtf, don’t do it, nick doesn’t deserve it?” Smh

Via CAGEDINSIDER –  GSP Says he would vacate the title belt for a opportunity to finally fight Diaz. That’s some very interesting news to add to the situation.

Looks like it’s gonna happen. Get Nick to Glendale for some more judo!

There have been a lot of complaints about Carlos Condit’s unanimous decision victory over Nick Diaz at UFC 143′s interim welterweight title fight on Saturday. Most notably, Nick Diaz vowed to retire from MMA after the decision was read. Diaz, and many fans, were frustrated with Condit’s counter-strike and circle away strategy, but Diaz had no answer for it inside the cage.

UFC president Dana White expressed his hope for a rematch between the two fighters as the best solution:

“I know (Georges. St. Pierre) wanted that Diaz fight bad, but it’s not going to be Diaz so he better get angry with Carlos Condit or focus on Carlos Condit or whatever he needs to do. Carlos Condit won this fight. No matter how much Georges and Nick hate each other, Carlos Condit won, and I think the fans are mad at the way Carlos Condit fought. Too f*cking bad. He came in with a game plan and stuck to it and won. You know what’s funny man, is that when he said that, I was thinking the same thing. It’s crazy, but. I was thinking it after the fight. You know, people are bitching and thinking it was close or whatever, we can do that fight again before GSP comes back. It depends on Carlos too, he’s really gotta say, and Nick’s gotta say I want to fight him again too.”

Carlos Condit pulls upset on Nick Diaz to take UFC interim welterweight title, loser says he’s done

LAS VEGAS — Nick Diaz is brilliant at playing mind games with his opponents. Carlos Condit never took the bait before or during the fight, stuck to the gameplan and outsmarted Diaz to get himself a share of the UFC welterweight title.

Condit moved beautifully all night and landed 60-plus kicks. He never stood in front of Diaz for more than a few seconds. It all added to a unanimous decision victory, 48-47, 49-46 and 49-46, in the main event of UFC 143 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

Condit picks up the UFC’s interim welterweight belt. The champion Georges St-Pierre is sidelined until late 2012 after undergoing surgery for a torn ACL. UFC president Dana White couldn’t say for certain before the fight if the winner tonight would sit out 8-9 months until GSP is ready.

Condit was a pretty big underdog at plus-185. The Diaz-GSP fight was expected to be one of the fights of 2012. A St-Pierre-Condit fight won’t have the sizzle, but it should be a helluva fight based on what the new interim champ showed tonight.

Diaz’s behavior is nearly impossible to predict. He shocked few by complaining about the decision, but then threw everyone for a loop saying he’s had it with the sport.

“I’m not going to accept this as a loss. I pushed him back all fight. I’m happy for Carlos and his family, but I think I’m done with MMA,” said Diaz.

Diaz is just 29 years old and one of the rising stars of the sport. He’s got a bright future with massive earning potential.

“I don’t need this [expletive]. He ran from me this whole fight. I landed the harder shots.. He kicked me in the leg with little baby kicks. I don’t want to play this game no more. I’m out of this [expletive],” said Diaz.

The judges made the right call. The first round was tough to call with Condit starting out strong and Diaz closing well. Condit ran a little too much in the second and lost the round. He corrected his mistake from there and was simply brilliant in the final three rounds. Diaz stalked him for 15 more minutes ate kick after kick. By the time Diaz tried to settle and throw Condit was nowhere to be found. He scooted out of the way in most cases it looked like a classic Diaz 10-12 punch flurry was coming. The work to Diaz’s legs really sapped him late. He looked a step slow in the final round.

Chael Sonnen Calls Out Anderson Silva UFC 136 (Video)

Chael Sonnen was a driving force tonight in UFC 136. He continually kept pressure on Brian Stann. We have never seen him look better. Chael simply out classed Brian Stann. Keeping tight never giving Stann an inch.

After his impressive performance Sonnen made sure to let Anderson Silva know he’s next. Reminded me of the scene in Rocky 3 how Clubber Lang called out Rocky.

Sonnen in true Sonnen fashion tells Anderson Silva, “Anderson Silva, you absolutely suck! Super Bowl weekend will be the biggest rematch in the history of this business. I’m calling you out, but we’re upping the stakes, I beat you, you leave the division. You beat me, I will leave the UFC … forever.”

It has me fired up for their fight. Can’t wait to see how that pans out, and if he will really stick to what he said in the ring tonight, or if he once again is flapping the lips on that big mouth of  his. I guess only time will tell.
