What has former UFC Ring Girl Edith Labelle been up to? I wonder if enough time has gone by? I think it’s high time that Dana White does a litte reconsidering. Here is Edith Labelle looking hotter than ever. Anyone else think that she needs to come back????????
Honestly Dana, we wouldn’t mind. I swear.
Edith Labelle was fired from the UFC, here are some of her quotes as to what happened.
“After the UFC Expo and weigh-ins [at UFC 100], I went to dinner,” she said. “Then I attended some of the pre-parties with some of the UFC management, some of the Octagon girls, some of the fighters. And then I started to feel ill — I wasn’t feeling good. So I decided to go to bed. I really wanted to be in good shape for the next day, obviously. Then I started to feel worse throughout the night and the next day.
“It was so bad that I couldn’t stop throwing up. Then it was kind of getting late that [next] day — I didn’t realize it was that late — so I contacted the proper UFC personnel to let them know of my situation, and I told them that I would get ready as quick as possible and I would be there. I didn’t want to miss that at all. They told me to stay in my room because they didn’t want to take the risk of anything happening because it was such a big event. So I had to stay [in my hotel room].
“Honestly, it was the worst feeling because I was so excited for those fights, obviously, and I could hear the fans cheering and screaming while I was laying in my bed.”
Labelle was let go a few days later. She said she was disappointed when she heard a rumor that the reason why she couldn’t attend the event was because she was hung over.
“That’s not true. I was not hung over. I was really sick. That’s why I left the pre-party because I was really sick. … I truly believe it was food poisoning.”
Still, when UFC management called her with the news after the event, there was nothing she could do to convince them otherwise.
“They contacted me and they said that the rumor was that I was too hungover, that I partied too hard. I just wish … I was literally laying on the bathroom floor — I was so sick. Thinking back, I should have thought to see a doctor or ask them to send one of the UFC’s doctors to check up on me to see what was wrong. But I didn’t think about it before, and a day or two later, it was too late.”
“I felt like I was letting them down because it was such a big event, but it was out of my control. I also felt like I was with them for a year and a half, and of course, nothing like that every happened before. … I was really sick, so of course I felt a little sad.
“I wish it would have happened differently, but I’m still a huge fan of the UFC.”
As for her time as a UFC Octagon girl, Labelle has no regrets and no favorite experience. The whole ride, she says, was memorable.
“I don’t really have one [favorite memory] in particular. It’s just always discovering new cities, and getting to know all the fighters, and just getting to be there for all the great events. Just the whole thing was a great experience.”
Um does any of this really matter with a body like that. OOoooffffff!
I want to let all of you know that I have been following MMA for over 15 years, I fully understand and have the utmost respect for the sport.
I’m still jacked up after brock lesnars (cough, cough) win over Frank Mir.
First, I just have to say the display after this fight was an utter disgrace. This is not WWE, these are “real” professional fighters. Brock lesnar is making a joke out of a sport that I have grown to love. I love it because of the respect and determination, and skill of the fighters who represent the sport.
The way Lesnar came up this quickly and remains a champ turns my stomach. Not one of Lesnar’s fights have shown any technique. He is simply the Champ because of his sheer overwhelming size, and something about that justs urks me to no end. His attitude, in a word “Blows.” It seems like this is all a follow up act to his WWE career. Do me a favor Brock if you want to act, move to Hollywood. Don’t make a joke out of a pure sport you big chooch, have a little respect for the people that worked and dedicated their lives to this.
Until you show me that you have real talent, other than being a gorilla then I have no respect for you as a fighter.
Good for you GSP, you deserve it!!
“The next day I went at a pool party at Rehab with all my friends who came to support me.I drank so much that I forgot my whole name. It was very cool because at one time, Thiago Alves showed up with his entourage and came in my booth (cabana) and drinking with me and congratulate me for the fight.I thought he was a class act and that prove that he was a real professional athlete and a real good person and a gentleman. I really appreciated it, he’s a great fighter and also a great gentleman, and we had a good time drinking together. We had a booth (cabana) and it was great spot in the place.
I took my plane the following Monday – when I got on the plane…I think I was still drunk. The flight went very well. People who know me know that I can’t sleep on the plane, because I’m always afraid of flying, but the fact that I was drunk helped me out controlling my fear. I watched the movie Shawshank Redemption – it’s very, very good.”John Fitch showed up as well, and we celebrate together our victories. Shonie Carter came a little bit later with a gold speedo and a hat and a cane dressed like a pimp with his cane. He make us laugh very much and as always me and Shonie had a great time because Shonie is a good old friend of mine. We had an amazing time at Rehab then I came back to my hotel…took a little nap of one hour and went back to a club at night called Body English at the Hard Rock Hotel. I drank so much that I couldn’t sleep at night.
