UFC ON FOX - Begins airing Fall 2011

Dana White has been “no commenting” a lot during recent weeks. Especially when it came to the details of a potential deal arising quickly with FOX Network.

Offers have been piling up on the table.

Already negotiating a contract renewal with SpikeTV, the UFC also had new offers coming in from CBS, Comcast, and another unique opportunity to overtake the G4 network and turn the channel into a 24/7 MMA network.

Then the UFC then received an out of the park offer from FOX.  A seven-year deal worth over $100 million annually. This includes four prime time, LIVE  event broadcasts per year on FOX, and great time slots for the hit TV show The Ultimate Fighter. on the network channel and Fox Sports channels.

Cain Velasquez Punching Power = 2230 Lbs of Force (VIDEO)

ESPN does a great series called Sport Science where they measure the power and force generated by some of the world’s top athletes. Randy Couture, Bas Rutten and Gina Carano have all been featured on the show. This segment about Cain Velazquez was done just before UFC 121. Cain is off the charts!

Cain’s heart rates maxes out at 168 bpm, and his left hook delivers with 2230 pounds of force!! That’s incredible, AND way higher than anyone they’ve ever tested, including Heavyweight boxing champ James Toney who hits like a ton of bricks himself.

I’ve read some speculation around that Brock Lesnar can’t take a punch. The reality is that Cain Velazquez hits like a brick house!

Mayhem Miller – New Coach for UFC’s The Ultimate Fighter

Jason “Mayhem” Miller is at it again! After some very successful seasons with MTV and the hit show BULLY BEATDOWN, UFC / Zuffa could not resist this world-class fighter any longer. Ponying up a nice contract with the UFC and an opportunity to coach the next season of the hit TV show, The Real Ultimate Fighter.

He’s pumped up to train some upcoming fighters and get in the ring to fight the opposing team’s coach Michael Bisbing, for the season finale. YouTube Preview Image

Chael Sonnen is Talking Trash to Everyone (Video)

After UFC 132, the new king-of-the-trash-talk, Chael Sonnen is talking smack about everyone. Dissing PRIDE champs like Mirko “Cro Cop,” Wanderlei Silva and “Kid” Yamamoto, sharing his ideas that Fedor sucks, and calling Lyoto Machida a bum that trains in a bathrobe.

There’s a man you may have heard of called Randy Couture, and Machida took one of his teeth. And for that I’m going to take three of his. But, I’m not only willing to take on Machida just because of Randy, it’s also that easy fight thing. I’m trying to ease my way back into the pool so I’m calling out bums.

ESPN reports that Machida will fight Sonnen after ‘bathrobe’ remarks.

A lot of interesting follow up comments here on MMA MANIA.

Brock Lesnar Makes Me Sick!

I want to let all of you know that I have been following MMA for over 15 years, I fully understand and have the utmost respect for the sport.

I’m still jacked up after brock lesnars (cough, cough) win over Frank Mir.

First, I just have to say the display after this fight was an utter disgrace. This is not WWE, these are “real” professional fighters. Brock lesnar is making a joke out of a sport that I have grown to love. I love it because of the respect and determination, and skill of the fighters who represent the sport.

The way Lesnar came up this quickly and remains a champ turns my stomach. Not one of Lesnar’s fights have shown any technique.  He is simply the Champ because of his sheer overwhelming size, and something about that justs urks me to no end. His attitude, in a word “Blows.” It seems like this is all a follow up act to his WWE career. Do me a favor Brock if you want to act,  move to Hollywood. Don’t make a joke out of a pure sport you big chooch, have a little respect for the people that worked and dedicated their lives to this.

Until you show me that you have real talent, other than being a gorilla then I have no respect for you as a fighter.

This is how the face of the UFC should act?
